VetSouth Ltd is a Southland owned veterinary business servicing the whole province with clinics in Gore, Winton, Tapanui, Lumsden, Otautau and Invercargill. Our motivated team includes over 30 veterinarians who are ably supported by a large, dedicated crew including veterinary nurses and farm animal technicians as well as retail, customer service and managerial staff.
At VetSouth we pride ourselves on the wide range of skills and expertise of our veterinary personnel. Not only do our clients know that their animals, whether they be companion or production animals, receive a high standard of day to day veterinary care, but they also have access to a comprehensive range of more specialised services. Many of the vets at VetSouth are recognised as leaders in their field, being highly regarded both locally and nationally in areas ranging from companion animal medicine and surgery through sheep and deer health and production, to dairy cow nutrition, reproduction and milk quality.
As well as ensuring our clients' needs are well catered for, this level of expertise is hugely beneficial when it comes to recruiting new staff, with VetSouth seen as a preferred employer amongst recently qualified veterinarians and support staff. By attracting and retaining the best people VetSouth is very well placed to maintain its standard as one of New Zealand's premium veterinary businesses ably meeting the many and varied animal health needs of the farmers and pet owners of Southland.
KeyVet™ and Technical Advisory Groups. With our KeyVet service we have specific veterinarians allocated to manage individual farm clients. The KeyVet system ensures the client has a vet who knows their particular farming operation in depth and can provide specific advice to them.
The Technical Advisory Groups are groups of veterinarians with particular expertise in an animal species. The group assesses products and services and makes recommendations to the VetSouth management team on improved services and products for our clients.
Companion Animal care Our Gore and Winton practices are modern, purpose-built premises to ensure we have excellent facilities to provide the best in companion animal care. Both our Winton and Gore practices have achieved NZ Veterinary Association “Best Practice” certification.
Farm supplies service All of our practices have a well-provisioned farm supplies service, managed by knowledgeable and respected retail managers and well-trained support teams.
We welcome all enquiries, contact us at any of our 6 clinics
